Details are being finalized for the Sudbury Living Lifestyle and Home Show, set for Sunday, April 26 at the Holiday Inn.

To our knowledge, there has never been a lifestyle and home show like this in Sudbury. This isn't a traditional 'home renovation' show. The show will feature ideas for gardening, outdoor recreation, travel, health and fitness, beauty, food, and fashion, as well as better living and home decorating products and services.

There will be opportunities to attend exciting workshops and learn about products and services featured in Sudbury Living.

This type of venue allows people a chance to talk one-to-one with experts to obtain information and advice on subjects that interest them.

The magazine has always promoted the talented artists in the city and the lifestyle and home show will have an "Artists Walkway," an innovative local artists' gallery.
Magazine publisher Patricia Mills said the response from exhibitors interested in meeting Sudbury Living readers has been positive.

"We are more than aware of the current market conditions, but we also know people are still interested in learning about new ideas and trends. They want to support the Sudbury economy by shopping locally, and they want to prepare for a much-anticipated spring and summer by seeing what all the vendors have to offer.”

"The layout of the Holiday Inn, with its Solarium, and multi exhibit rooms is ideal for this multifaceted show, says event planner Tiana Di Pasquo, who is part of Laurentian Media’s event team.

Di Pasquo has considerable experience planning events such as the Northern Ontario Business Awards, The Influential Women Awards luncheons and the Community Builders Awards.

"When you think about it, this city covers a huge geographic area. Participating exhibitors will have a chance to meet new customers who might not be familiar with their products and services because they live on the other side of the city in Walden or Capreol.

"Most of Sudbury Living readers tell us they are amazed to learn about products and services available in Greater Sudbury when they thought they would only find them in Toronto."

Di Pasquo has done a lot of research for this event.

"I asked around to find out what people like and dislike about other other shows and special events. I asked people what their perfect experience would be and then drew up a wish list."

The main showcase will take place in Georgian Rooms D and E. The health, beauty and indulgence showcase will be Georgian Room C. The home decor showcase will be in Georgian D.

"We are using the Solarium for the outdoor living showcase...and we are excited about the Artists' Walkway."

Tickets for Sudbury Living Lifestyle and Home Show are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. They are available at Northern Life at 158 Elgin St., and at participating exhibitors.
