Greater Sudbury residents are invited to participate in one of three Jane's Walks on Saturday, May 2. Jane's Walk celebrates the legacy of urbanist Jane Jacobs and her belief that walkable, diverse and mixed use neighborhoods are the hallmark of a healthy city and citizenry.

The Municipal Heritage Committee will be hosting a Jane's Walk in Downtown Sudbury. This walk will explore the collective history, architecture, planning and personalities of the downtown area. This guided walking tour will be led by Oryst Sawchuk, Chair of the City of Greater Sudbury Municipal Heritage Committee. The walk begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs approximately two hours. Participants are asked to meet at Market Square, 79 Elgin Street.

A Jane's Walk focusing on the Flour Mill area will be led by Jeannine Larcher-Lalonde on behalf of the Flour Mill Community Action Network. This walk will commence at 1:00 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at College Sacré-Coeur to start the walk, which will head North on Notre-Dame Avenue to the Musée in the Flour Mill.

Rainbow Routes is hosting a Jane's Walk/Hike as part of their Spring Hiking Series through the Blueberry Hill and Oak Forest Trails. This hike will be led by Mr. Stanley Koren and commences at 10:00 a.m. for approximately two hours. Participants are asked to meet in the Carmichael Arena parking lot at 1298 Bancroft Drive.
