The Summer 2008 issue of Sudbury Living introduced readers to Ann Rauhala. She grew up in Waters Township and Copper Cliff before attending Ryerson. She had a long and successful career at The Globe and Mail, before becoming a journalism professor at her old alma mater.

Last year, she edited a collection of articles about Canadian families who had adopted children from China. Her book is called The Lucky Ones.

Rauhala will be the guest speaker at the Canadian Federation of University Women dinner at Bryston's June 1.
