Sudbury filmmakers finalists in Cinefest shorts competition

Cinéfest Sudbury has announced the 2010 finalists for the CTV BEST IN SHORTS COMPETITION.  The screening of the finalists' films will take place Saturday, Sept. 25 at 12:30 pm at SilverCity Sudbury Cinemas, located at 355 Barry Downe Rd.

categories:
Open Category (Grand Prize: $2,500; 2nd Prize: $1,000; 3rd Prize: $500)
Student Category (Grand Prize $1,000)
Best Animation Award ($1,000 Sponsored by Collège Boréal)
The Northern Flicks Award ($1,000 Sponsored by Sault College)
CTV Best Script Award ($500 Sponsored by CTV)

Michael McGowan's film SCORE: A HOCKEY MUSICAL will open the 22nd edition of Cinefest Sudbury.Sept. 18 at 7 pm at SilverCity Sudbury.

Barney's Version, the Canadian movie getting lots of buzz after opening at the Toronto International Film Festival will be shown in Sudbury, as the closing gala of Cinefest, Sunday, Sept. 26.

Screenings will take place at SilverCity Sudbury, located at 355 Barry Downe Rd. The 22nd edition of Cinefest Sudbury runs from Sept. 18 to 26. For further information, contact the  Sudbury office at (705) 688-1234 or visit www.cinefest.com.
